Hickory Cabinets

Hickory is probably the most rustic-looking wood for cabinets – it has a heavy grain and lots of knots.  A very strong wood, hickory is often used for hammer and other tool handles so it makes durable kitchens. If you want a rustic kitchen with a lighter grain and less color variation, alder may be your best choice.
